Professor Frank Bullen

bullenProfessor Frank Bullen is currently Dean of Engineering and Surveying and Pro Vice-Chancellor Research at the University of Southern Queensland. He has extensive experience in academia and the private sector spanning over 30 years. Professor Bullen has worked as a metallurgist, civil engineer, lecturer, researcher, executive manager and author, with a list of more than 130 refereed publications.

Professor Frank Bullen is involved in a number of professional associations including Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Charted Professional Engineer, a member of the executive of the Australian Council of Engineering Deans and represents that body on the executive of the Australasian Association of Engineering Education (AAEE). He is a member of the Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australasia and the American Society for Engineering Education. Frank set up the Engineering Education Research Group at the University of Southern Queensland in 2007 and has many connections to STEM via such activities as the Science and Engineering Challenge, the Go West Team at USQ, Siemens’ Science School and RoboCup. Currently he is also involved in managing an ALTC grant to develop an Engineering and Technology Discipline Support Strategy for Australian Universities.
